The past year and a half has brought an unprecedented amount of stress to us all. First with the alienation from everyone around us, then with the realization COVID was going to be around a lot longer than expected. Everyone has had to find a way to cope with the implications of a global pandemic.
For those new mom's, it has brought a lot more concern. It is hard being a new mom let alone the thought of having to do it all without as much help as you once thought. Here are a couple ways to destress and relax during a time where so much seems to be going wrong.
(1) Exercise, 15-30 minutes a day will go a long way, try yoga to get those sore muscles stretched
(2) Take a deep breath! Try meditation or just sit in silence
(3) Take a bubble bath
(4) Read a book or magazine (not about your child)
(5) Go for a walk outside
(6) Write down what you are thankful for in a Journal, sometimes its easier to look at all the bad in life we forget how blessed we are to have everything we do
(7) Make a cup of tea and drink it ALONE! Sit outside or drink by a window, bask in that sunlight!
(8) Listen to your favorite song and dance like no one is watching
(9) Plan one fun thing to look forward to this week, a date night, or watching a movie by yourself, whatever works but have something to look forward to
(10) Make something, or bake something. Get crafty.

Of course with so much going on it may seem impossible to get even a second to shower, try to have someone else take over for a bit to get away and get your body moving. You have to take care of yourself to take care of the baby!
